What better way to get into the true spirit of Chirstmas than Victorian Cape May?  This seaside town is transformed into a Dickens Village for the holidays with garlands of fragrant greens and twinkling gaslights. Wrap yourself in the warmth of holiday spirit by joining us for a day filled with festive fun!

Physick Family Christmas & Carroll Gallery Exhibit (included)
Travel back in time and immerse yourself in the beauty of a Victorian Christmas at the 1879 Physick Estate. The Physick house is adorned in authentic holiday decorations, adding to the festive atmosphere. As you tour the estate, interact with a member of the Physick Family household from the 1890s and gain insight into their lives during this time.

The Carroll Gallery at the Physick Estate becomes a Christmas wonderland this time of year. It's all about the wonder of Christmas morning with model trains and Dept. 56 Dickens Village beneath the boughs of a giant tree. You can stand under our tree and feel like a kid on Christmas morning!

12:15pm - 3:30pm

Free Time for Lunch and Shopping (on own)
Take time for lunch and Christmas shopping at the picturesque Washington Street Mall which serves Cape May's town square. Enjoy a variety of unique boutiques, shops, fine diining, restaurants and bars and enjoy lovely Rotary Park nearby,

4:00pm- 6:00pm

Dinner at Hemingway's Restaurant at The Grand Hotel (included)
This Cape May restaurant features modern American cuisine with a variety of delectable culinary creations including fresh locally sourced seafood and so much more. You will have a choice of Cape May Crab Cake or French-cut Chicken Breast with natural thyme au jus.

Christmas Traditions Presentation (included)
While you are finishing your meal enjoy a Christmas Traditions Presentation. Much of what we moderns associate with the secular celebration of Christmas comes from the Victorian Era, including Christmas trees, Christmas cards, our image of Santa Claus, and many other features. You will learn how Prince Albert brought these traditions to England from Germany when he married Queen Victoria, and how they then spread to America.

6:15pm - 6:45pm

Holiday Lights Trolley Ride (included)
Board your trolley and enjoy a front row view of Cape May's holiday decorations as the trolley winds its way through town. Listen to your guide and learn about exterior holiday decorations, wassailing/caroling, the evolution of Santa, traditions of gift givers and the history of Christmas.

7:15pm

Depart for home after your festive, holiday filled day in Cape May!
